How to Transition Into a Full-Time Coaching Career

“Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it.” -George Halas

You’re ready to ditch the 9-5 and commit to making your health coaching side hustle a full-time career. Or maybe you’re looking to turn your part-time coaching business into a full-blown business. This is an exciting opportunity! But it can also come with its challenges.

Transitioning into a full-time coaching career takes a great amount of work and willingness to learn from your mistakes. But there are some tips that you can apply in order to make this transition in your career more manageable!

Start a certified training program

The first step in transitioning into a full-time coaching career is enrolling in a certified training program to give you the proper accreditation you need! There are thousands of online and in-person accredited coaching programs out there (check out our blog on our recommended programs) that will give you the skills and education that you need to properly coach your clients.

Find a mentor

The best thing that you can do for yourself in the beginning stages of transitioning into your full-time coaching business is to find a mentor that you can learn from. Find someone who has 10+ years of experience and can help give you guidance and answer all of the questions you may have. It’s good to be reminded that everyone starts somewhere.

Take it slow

Building a full-time coaching career does not happen overnight, especially when transitioning out of your day job or part-time job. Rushing into your new coaching career and finally being able to quit your 9-5 may sound exciting, but this transition takes time and patience. It will take time for your new coaching career to be financially sustainable and creating a business, especially if this is your first time doing so, has a steep learning curve.

Give it your all

If this is truly a career that you are passionate about and willing to give all of your time and energy, you have to commit 100%. Creating a successful business that is going to sustain you and give you financial freedom and a life away from the 9-5 sounds good on paper, but there is so much work that has to go into making that actually happen. If you are committed to this career, you have to go all in.
