Hypertension

Health coaching has proven to be an increasingly powerful tool in managing hypertension. Introducing health coach intervention has shown to lower systolic blood pressure by 4-5 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 1.3-1.6 mmHg. It also leads to significant improvements in dietary habits (11-12%) and boosts self-efficacy by 5-6%. These results empower patients to take control of their health. Health coaching is being shown to be an effective tool for managing type 2 diabetes.  By offering personalized support, health coaches help patients improve glycemic control and sustain lifestyle changes. Studies show that health coaching interventions can lead to a 0.29% reduction in HbA1c levels, with some patients experiencing clinically significant decreases of ≥5 mmol/mol (0.46%) or more. Medication adherence alone is not enough to manage hyperlipidemia, aka high cholesterol. It requires ongoing lifestyle adjustments and regular monitoring to achieve long-term success and sustained health outcomes. Studies show that implementing health coaching into the care plan yields a 7-10% reduction in LDL cholesterol, which is significant.  Health coaching has also been shown to increase the achievement of target cholesterol levels by 14% compared to usual care. Obesity & Weight Loss

Health coaching has a significant impact on obesity and weight loss outcomes. In a study of 271 participants, 60% of those who received coaching achieved a weight loss of 5% or more from their baseline weight by 12 months. This result was significantly higher compared to those in comparison groups, including those who dropped out or did not receive weight coaching. Pairing GLP-1 therapy with personalized health coaching significantly improves weight loss and metabolic outcomes. In a study of 2,643 patients, participants who received coaching achieved an average weight loss of 15.6% at 12 months, with sustained results at 24 months. Addressing menopausal symptoms can be challenging, but studies show that the structured intervention of health coaching offers measurable relief. In one study, women who received coaching saw an average reduction of 12.51 points in the severity of their menopausal symptoms compared to the control group. With that, depression symptoms improved significantly, with a 5.72-point decrease, and quality of life scores increased by 4.13 points. Women with PCOS undergoing fertility treatments are finding that working with a health coach leads to significant improvements in their overall health outcomes giving them hope for increased chances of conception.  One study conducted shows that participants in the group utilizing health coach intervention experienced a 2.13 cm reduction in waist circumference compared to the control group. With that, the total physical activity (excluding sitting time) increased by 3,025.22 units, and lifestyle quality scores improved by 11.03 points which was expressed as improved stress management.
