4 Small Changes You Can Make to Create the Healthy Lifestyle You Want

Every day, we make thousands of choices that influence the way we live and the habits we build. Right now, you may think that you have a good understanding of the things you need to do to have a healthier lifestyle. The thing is, how do you start? 

In a previous post, we talked about how to start building long-lasting habits that will shape your entire life. But today, we are going to share with you 4 simple changes that you can make in your current day-to-day life that will increase your livelihood, no matter where you are in your health and wellness journey.

Sleep 7-9 hours

A lack of sleep can cause several setbacks to your health. Your body needs 7-9 hours of sleep every night in order to repair tissue, fight off infections, and improve your bodily functions. Even losing just one hour of sleep every night can wreak havoc on your body. Try making a sleep pattern by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day and tracking how much sleep you’re getting. This simple change can make all the difference to your health. 

Drink water

This one gets overlooked all the time, but it’s one of the most important changes you can make that will improve your healthy lifestyle! Drinking at least 64 ounces of water per day can give you more lasting energy, better-looking skin, and can even help with de-bloating and weight loss! Try drinking this much water every day for a week and see the results! 

Keep moving

Even if you engage in your workouts for an hour each day, sitting idly for the rest of the day can undo all of that great work for your body. Don’t go for long periods without moving. Go on small walks throughout the day, track your steps, and try to stretch and move every hour! 

Take breaks

This may seem counterintuitive, but allowing yourself to take short breaks throughout the day can completely change your mindset and help you live a healthier life. When you start to feel overwhelmed or fatigued, take a mental break or do something productive that’s unrelated to the task at hand. Allow yourself time to breathe and reenergize so that you don’t reach burnout. 

With a few simple changes to your daily routine, you can start to live a healthier life not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Stay consistent and take small steps to ensure that these positive changes turn into long-lasting healthy habits!
